Music is a unique way of communicating that can inspire and motivate children. It is a vehicle for personal expression, and it can play an important part in the personal development of people. Music reflects the culture and society we live in, and so the teaching and learning of music enable children to understand better the world that they live in. Besides being a creative and enjoyable activity, music can also be a highly academic and demanding subject. It also plays an important part in helping children to feel part of a community. We provide opportunities for all children to create, play, perform and enjoy music, to develop the skills, to appreciate a wide variety of musical forms, and to begin to make judgments about the quality of music.

On Monday 23rd January our amazing choir performed at the Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena in London.
The Young Voices concert provides an unrivalled musical opportunity for primary school children to perform all styles of music including folk, pop, rock and classical. The aim of the concert is to unify children from across their region, boost their confidence and provide lifelong memories for them and their families. We have spent the last few months working really hard to learn the songs and dance routines before coming together with other schools for the show at the O2. It was an incredible opportunity for our school choir to sing in a huge arena alongside some of the most talented and well-known artists from the world of music. We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge well done to our amazing choir for their fantastic performance. They were a credit to our school and they made us very proud. We hope those of you able to join us enjoyed it as much as we did!
We will return to the O2 for Young Voices in 2024!
