Everyone at Riverside is assigned a team name alongside a colour – Marcus Rashford, Rosa Parks, Michael Rosen or Sir David Attenborough and within these teams an election is held to vote for a Team Captain and a Vice Captain to lead and represent their team.
Every child in Year 6 are given the opportunity to make a speech on becoming a Team /Vice Captain. Speeches are recorded and watched in class where children across the school from EYFS to Year 6 are able to vote.
They are ambassadors for the school and their responsibilities include providing an excellent role model to others in terms of attitude and behaviour. They also have the very important job of counting the team points gained by others in their team each week which is carried over the entire school year to provide an overall top team.
Congratulations to the following children who all made excellent speeches.
We hope you are very proud to have been voted in.
Enjoy the leadership of your team this year.
